The BBC Symphony Orchestra (BBCSO) Learning Project was focused on the work of George Crumb as per the Barbican’s
Total Immersion Composer series.
Fulham Symphony Orchestra members rehearsed at BBC Maida Vale studios for two weeks prior to the final
sharing performance at the Barbican, on Saturday 5th December which was a breath-taking collaboration
between musicians from the BBCSO and COMA and 2nd year BA Dance Theatre students from dance conservatoire
Laban. Lux in Tenebras (translated as light into darkness) was composed by Stephen Montague and inspired by
George Crumb’s “Starchild”.
